最近大家总是会说到“尴尬到脚趾抓地”“尴尬到脚趾蜷缩”，在各大影视剧的弹幕上也频频出现这样的吐槽，那么所谓的“尬到脚趾抓地”其实就是形容尴尬，羞耻等情绪。
那大家知不知道“尴尬”用英语怎么说呢？让我们一起来学一学吧~
1.awkward 尴尬的；笨拙的；棘手的；
▷He wished them "Good morning" in anawkwardhesitating undertone as if he were doubtful how his greetings would be received.
他尴尬地向他们问好，声音很低，又有些犹豫，好像担心他们会不睬他。
▷Hareton, during the discussion stood with his hands in his pockets, tooawkwardto speak.
在这段谈话中间，哈里顿就这么双手插在衣袋里站着，窘得说不出话来。
2.embarrassing 令人难堪的，羞愧的
▷It wasembarrassingfor him to bump into one of his ex-girlfriends last night.
昨天晚上撞见其中一个前女友真是让他尴尬。
▷He had no reasons for anything but gratitude towards her, he owed her his happiness, and yet, it wasembarrassingto him to meet her.
他对她原只怀着感激的心情，他今天的幸福是从她那里得来的，可是遇见她总不免有些尴尬。
3.cringeworthy 令人难堪，感到不适的，难为情的
▷It was acringeworthyperformance from start to finish.
从头到尾这真是一次叫人不舒服的演出。
▷Excising these common butcringeworthyphrases is a great place to start and may even put you on the fast track to a promotion.
